Papaya Smoothie

Through a set of interesting circumstances, my grandmother accidentally grew a Papaya tree in her flowerbed. It is now the much-beloved family tree, except for my grandmother, who hates it. Thankfully, my grandfather will not let her chop it down. As a result, we have an overabundance of Papayas floating around during the warmer parts of the year. In an effort to find a use for them I give you the following recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 1 sliced Papaya (if you are like most normal people you probably do not have papayas growing in your backyard they are available fresh and frozen at the grocery store)
  • ½ cup of ice cubes
  • 1 cup Orange juice
  • 1 banana peeled
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup of sugar
  • You also need a blender which isn’t technically an ingredient, but still a necessary part of the process!

Servings: 2-3

Procedure:

  1. Put all the ingredients in your blender!
  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. Pour your smoothie into a tall glass and enjoy on a hot day.

The great thing about this recipe is its adaptability. You could also add carrot juice or mangoes for an added pop of flavor. Please try out my recipe and let me know how it turned out! Like, comment, or even subscribe! As always glamour shots!
